About Dick Lee
Many Singaporeans will remember Dick Lee as the multi-talented local musician, who has created several hit musicals and written many popular and endearing songs such as the NDP theme song ‘Home’. But how much do you know about the mad chinaman’s early life story?
Dick started his career in music as early as when he was fifteen years old, when he participated in various talent contests together with his siblings to get his music heard. His first album, Life Story, featuring his own compositions, was released in 1974.
Fast forward 43 years later, Dick Lee’s directorial debut feature film WONDER BOY, co-directed by Daniel Yam is hugely inspired his own biographical story where a young music prodigy comes of age during an era where rock music was frowned upon and long hair men were looked upon as gangsters.
